Our Story

Ladd & Lass Brewing is a labor of love from husband-and-wife team, Nick Ladd & Jessie Quan. Having met many moons ago, we have been lucky enough to chase a variety of adventures over the years, but none compare to L&L. We are so excited to be able to share this adventure with you!

To build a joyful community founded on
the humble pursuit of craft and a relentless
commitment to innovation and inclusivity.

Embracing the Style Spectrum
Like many professional brewers, our roots are deep in homebrew and the homebrew community. As homebrewers, we fell in love with the incredible spectrum of flavors that beer offers and aim to showcase that range at L&L. We are unapologetically geeky about fermentation, and despite pushing technical and stylistic boundaries, our beers are always balanced and delicious. Our offerings range from sessionable lagers and hoppy libations to farmhouse style saisons and blended, mixed-fermentation beers to behemoth barleywines and imperial stouts—and any other styles that may pique our interest.

Gathering Place for All
The L&L taproom will always be a safe and welcoming place for all. However you identify, what matters most to us is that your L&L experience is a positive and enjoyable one. Whether you’re working remotely for the day, want to spend some time with your favorite book, or gathering with friends, we hope everyone that visits our taproom finds their special spot amongst the L&L family.

A Colorful History
We are humbled (and pretty damn stoked) to be stepping into a space with an incredible history. Most recently Floating Bridge Brewing, we are grateful for the community Russ & Dawn built and hope to build on their craft beer legacy. Looking a bit further back, our taproom was once The Rainbow Tavern, a venue that hosted musicians including Bo Diddley, The Ramones, Soundgarden, and so many others. 722 NE 45th Street may no longer be a music venue, but we hope to channel and carry on the creativity, inclusivity, and good times.

High five if you’re stoked about brewing beer!
