No Use for a Name: HBC 586
Hazy IPA / 6.6% ABV
Our No Use for a Name series celebrates the hop-breeding process by which tens of thousands of genetic crosses are pursued in the hopes of creating a new and viable cultivar. With the odds of creating a new and viable cultivar being on the low side, most of these experimental hops never receive a name and are only referred to by their internal catalog codes. For this iteration, we've chosen to brew with HBC 586, which packs a medley of tropical fruit character. Think guava and mango, with a touch of pineapple and just a slight undercurrent of traditional citrus.
Will HBC 586 be worthy of a proper name? You be the judge.
